How to Start a Podcast

Day 41: Podcast Funnels

No items found.

Today we discuss the most important words you need to craft in your podcast to get your listeners to take action, why this is important, and the six most commonly used phases to get them to take action.

Steps for Skill Mastery:

  1. Create a podcast funnel
  2. Create a Call to Action

Step 1: Create a Podcast Funnel

In order to get your listeners taking action you need, you need to create funnel for your listeners. A content funnel looks like this:

With your new podcast you’re going to be creating Top of the Funnel content. With TOFU content, you are trying to create awareness of your brand. In our opinion, you want to provide as much value as humanly possible with your TOFU content and have clear CTA’s (call-to-action) so that you can take someone, who got value, to MOFU.

Having this foundational strategy in place so that you can convert people from passive listeners into active customers is very important.

Activity: Map Out Your Funnel

Start mapping out what your podcast funnel. When a listener hears your content, what are the steps they will take before becoming part of your community or a customer with you.

Now that you have a funnel, lets create some strong calls to action.

Step 2: Create a Call to Action

One of the reasons that we created out show is to create an audience that knows, likes, and trusts us. We are building an intimate relationship with our audience.

When we do this, it allows us the leverage to market the products and services we have that we know can help our listeners. One of the most important aspects of marketing to our listeners is our call to action.

Calls to action are a request from you to have the listeners take an action of engaging with you and your brand more after listening to the content of your podcast episode. They are often placed at the end of the episode in our outline.

Activity: Create a Call to Action

Create a clear and concise call to action for your podcast based one where you want to lead your listeners in their journey.

Now you are starting to leverage your audience for more than just listening to your content.
