Day 15: Portfolios

No items found.

Today you will continue to develop your personal brand by creating a portfolio of work samples and case studies which will be more important to your job search than a resume.

Summary

What are Promotional Materials?

Portfolios are collections of work or proof of performance, demonstrating your accomplishments, experience, training, awards, and other things from the past.

  • When it comes to creating an impressive portfolio, it’s important to understand exactly what your portfolio should achieve. What information should your portfolio present? What do you want people to learn about you and your work when they land on your portfolio?
  • Your portfolio is not just a virtual gallery of all your most beautiful work. It’s a carefully crafted story that offers a behind-the-scenes look at your methods and processes.
  • Your portfolio should introduce you as an employee and give the viewer an understanding of how you work.
  • And of course, all of these insights should come gift wrapped in a visually engaging, user friendly package.

Why Have a Portfolio?

A portfolio is more important than a resume. You can show potential employers with tangible evidence that you're able to solve problems similar as to the one they have.
