Summary

What to Identify when Researching Employers

When researching potential employers you want to know:

  • What kind of work they do there
  • Their style of working
  • Their corporate culture
  • What kinds of goals they are trying to achieve
  • What obstacles or challenges they are running into
  • How your skills and knowledges can help them
  • Would enjoy working there

Why Take Time to Research Employers

In your career plan, you have created your target list and you should focus your efforts on becoming their ideal candidate.

  • This means not sending out a generic resume because you're going to create custom resumes for your target companies, showing that you are the best possible candidate for the job.
  • This approach will dramatically increase your chances of hitting your ideal target and ultimately landing not just any job, but your dream job up.
